Java ID3 Source Code for Decision Tree Algorithm

Dear All,

The Input in.file is a txt file with a space separating each field (my actual in.file is a web logfile )
so i wish this will be informitive for you all, goodluck.

    Thanks for the response. I did end up creating my own in.txt file and was able to see how your ID3 implementation worked. It helped me to understand it for my own use for a class.

    Hi Mahmoud,

    Your code compiled fine after I selected the compatible version of printTree(). So there is a question: which is the correct version of printTree to use? I used the two parameter version.

    I ran my data through the application posted on George Luger’s AI website.

    I implemented their classes to match my data. Below is the file format of the data I used with both their code and yours. I got similar results, but some differences down inside the tree, IE both picked X9 as the root node, but there were differences down inside the tree.

    Question: Is this file format compatible with your code? (Y is the category and the properties are X1 thru X10)

    Do you treat properties and categories the same?
